As an anthropologist, Yukun Zeng’s work and practice focus on ethnographically understanding the situational dynamics and dilemmas of knowledge production and social dynamics in contemporary mainland China and Taiwan. He is also co-running the public anthropology platform Tying Knots 结绳志 and promoting the tactics of "urgent ethnography" and ethnographic journalism
