Rune Ytreberg

Rune Ytreberg is an award-winning investigative data journalist, speaker, and editorial product manager. He leads the AI data journalism lab at the local newspaper iTromsø, which uses artificial intelligence to develop new editorial tools for 70 newspapers in the Polaris Media Group in Norway and Sweden. He is currently pursuing a PhD in applied AI in local news and was named “Webhead of the Year” for his AI innovations. He received the Data Journalism Award in Norway in both 2023 and 2024 for his innovative investigative methods. Rune conducts workshops in advanced prompting and the customized use of AI for investigative journalists. He lives in Tromsø, Norway, with his wife and their four children.
