Valeriya Yegoshyna is an investigative journalist with Schemes (Skhemy), an investigative project of RFE/RL’s Ukrainian Service. She has built her career exposing high-level corruption and, after Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, successfully transitioned to reporting on war crimes. She is the author of a series of investigations into alleged Russian war crimes, conducted near the front line and in active war zones. In 2024, Yegoshyna received the ICFJ Knight International Journalism Award. She was named one of Kyiv Post’s “Top 30 Under 30” in 2019 and has won several other distinctions, including the top prizes at the V. Serhienko Investigative Journalism Competition (2017) and the National Investigative Award at the Mezhyhirya Festival (2018). In 2023, an investigation she co-authored on Izium and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine was honored with a Special Certificate of Excellence at the Global Shining Light Awards, presented by the Global Investigative Journalism Network.
