About
Sayyara Mammadova is a journalist specializing in disinformation, fact-checking, and open-source intelligence (OSINT). She oversees DFRLab’s training program, Digital Sherlocks, dedicated to journalists, civil society members, and academics. Sayyara leads DFRLab’s capacity-building programming focused on open-source and digital research methodologies and tools. She investigates disinformation, social media manipulation, and influence operations, while also providing training in OSINT tools and methods. Sayyara led the development of TG Collector (TGC), an open-source tool that facilitates Telegram-based investigations, enabling researchers to efficiently collect and analyze data. She also serves as an External Assessor with the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN) at Poynter and the European Fact-Checking Standards Network (EFCSN), contributing to high standards across the global fact-checking community.
