Purity Mukami is a statistician turned data journalist. For almost a decade, she has contributed her data skills to investigative stories and global projects such as FinCENFiles and the Pandora Papers. She has worked at Africa Uncensored, BBC Africa Eye, Finance Uncovered, and OCCRP. She has collaborated with various organizations investigating corruption, following the money as well as looking out for misinformation during elections and tracking election results in Kenya. Her work has also been published in The Elephant and she trains the next generation in data journalism through guides, tips and conversations about her work with organisations such as the Global Investigative Journalism Network (GIJN), Reuters Institute and Jamlab.
