Lulu Ning Hui

Lulu Ning Hui is the Publisher and CEO of Initium Media, a Chinese-language media organization recognized for its decade-long commitment to independent, in-depth journalism supported by a dedicated membership community. She previously served as Editor-in-Chief. In her current role, she focuses on the organization’s sustainable growth—shaping its long-term strategy, audience engagement, and product innovation—while safeguarding editorial independence and excellence. An award-winning journalist and editor, Lulu has reported extensively on China’s global links through cross-border and multilingual projects, ranging from investigations into Chinese investment in Africa to on-the-ground reporting in the Amazon Rainforest and on the high seas. She is a Ford Global Fellow and an alumna of CUNY’s News Innovation and Leadership Executive Program.
