About

Nikolia is GIJN’s Resource Center director. She commissions and edits GIJN's guides and tipsheets. Prior to that, she wrote stories and produced documentaries from Greece, Cyprus, and Turkey for more than 100 media outlets, like the BBC, The Associated Press, The New York Times, etc. She covered extensively Greece’s 2010 economic crisis and the 2015 European migrant crisis. Her documentaries have been screened in festivals worldwide and won multiple awards in various competitions. She’s also a Dart and a Fulbright fellow. Nikolia has taught journalism at the University of Athens and Panteion University in Athens. She earned her Master’s Degree in Digital Media at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and her Bachelor’s Degree at Panteion University, in Athens, Greece.
