Journalist specializing in the investigation of public policies and corruption. She is currently the Investigations Coordinator for corruption cases at the independent media Animal Político.
She is the author of the book ""La Austeridad Mata"". She co-authored “La Estafa Maestra, la historia del desfalco”; “La Estafa Maestra graduados en desaparecer dinero público”; and “La Travesía de las Tortugas”. She also coordinated “Mexicanas en Pie de Lucha, reportajes sobre el Estado machista y sus violencias”.
For her high journalistic standard and fight for freedom of expression, in 2023 she received a special mention in the Maria Moors Cabot Prize, the oldest recognition in journalism awarded by Columbia University in New York.
She is the winner of the Ortega y Gasset Prize in Spain, the National Journalism Prize in Mexico, and a finalist for the García Márquez Prize in Colombia in 2018 for the journalistic investigation La Estafa Maestra.
For her coverage of the clashes in Nochixtlán, Oaxaca, she received an honorable mention in the 2017 Journalistic Excellence Award from the Inter American Press Association (SIP).
In 2019, Americas Quarterly (AQ) included her in its top 5 figures in the fight against corruption in Latin America.
She graduated with a degree in Journalism from FES Aragón, UNAM. She has taught in Journalism diplomas at CIDE, UAM, Reuters Foundation, and Konrad Adenauer Foundation. She hosted the television program “Derecho a Saber” for INAI and Canal del Congreso.
