Najmi Mamat

Najmi Syahiran Mamat, an editor and journalist in Kuala Lumpur, is a digital verification journalist at Agence France-Presse (AFP), combating misinformation/disinformation in Malaysia and Singapore since 2023. He has worked with Channel News Asia, Free Malaysia Today, and Astro AWANI. Najmi has also co-published research papers as he obtained bachelor’s degree in Human Sciences from International Islamic University Malaysia in 2020 and master’s degree in journalism studies from Universiti Teknologi MARA in 2022. He was one of the 14th Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) Journalist Seminar participants last September in Hungary.
