Founder and director of Convoca, a digital investigative journalism outlet based in Lima, winner of more than 20 international and national awards in over 10 years of publication. Milagros Salazar is a member of the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) and specializes in investigating the links between corporate power and the upper echelons of Peruvian political power. She coordinated the collaborative project ‘Investiga Lava Jato’, involving media outlets from 15 countries in Latin America and Africa, to investigate the biggest corruption case in recent times. She directed the investigative series “Excesos sin castigo” (Excesses without punishment) on the environmental and social impact of extractive industries in Peru, winner of the 2016 Data Journalism Awards, the most important data journalism award worldwide, presented by the Global Editors Network, and coordinated the investigative series “Dorada Opacidad” (Golden Opacity), winner of the 2025 King of Spain Journalism Awards.
