Experienced Brazilian journalist, researcher and trainer specialized in public records access and data-driven investigations.
Currently based in London, he has over 10 years of experience in Brazil, reporting across various platforms. He co-founded a nonprofit focused on public records access and a consultancy specializing in environmental investigations (datafixers.org), co-directed the investigative journalism association Abraji, and has trained over 2,000 professionals through workshops.
He currently works as a reporter for BBC News Brasil in London and as a part-time researcher at the Centre of Latin American Studies at the University of Cambridge (CLAS).
He was previously a visiting researcher at institutions such as the National Endowment for Democracy (Washington DC), the Brown Institute for Media Innovation (Columbia University, New York), and the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism (University of Oxford). He was also the first Brazilian editor at the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) and has worked as a reporter for some of Brazil’s leading media outlets, including Estadão
He holds master’s degrees in Data Journalism (Columbia University) and Public Administration (FGV-EAESP).
