Juan Ravell is an audio producer and documentary director from Caracas, Venezuela. In 2008, Juan co-founded El Chigüire Bipolar, a wildly popular political satire website that used humor to bypass government censorship in Venezuela. In 2018, he branched into investigative journalism, collaborating on projects with reporters from Armando.Info, IDL Reporteros, Columbia Journalism School, and Centro Latinoamericano de Periodismo de Investigación. Juan directed A Dangerous Assignment for PBS Frontline, a documentary investigating corruption and food distribution in Venezuela. The film was nominated for a News & Documentary Emmy. As an audio producer, Juan has led projects for Spotify Studios Latin America, notably Un Poco de Contexto, an in-depth news/analysis show, and Fútbol a Muerte.
