Alia Ibrahim

Alia Ibrahim is a co-founder and the CEO of Daraj.com, an Arab, Beirut based independent media platform, launched in November 2017. Prior, Ibrahim was a Senior Correspondent at Al-Arabiya News Channel which she joined in 2008. In addition to her reporting from around the world and including her extensive coverage of the Arab Spring, Ibrahim produced and directed episodes for Special Mission, Al-Arabiya’s highest rating program. Ibrahim’s opinion and news stories appear in a number of publications including Al-Hayat newspaper, Al-Arabiya net, and until 2011 The Washington Post where she had been a contributing reporter since 2002. She started her career in 1996 as a general news reporter at The Daily Star in Beirut. She became managing editor of the newspaper in 2004. She’s the mother of two daughters, Yasma 19, and Mia 17.
