Minami Funakoshi is an award-winning journalist at Reuters and a board treasurer at the Trans Journalists Association, a nonprofit that promotes accurate, nuanced coverage of trans rights and communities in the media and fosters the careers of gender-expansive journalists. They are from Japan, grew up in Kuala Lumpur, and now work in Washington DC.
