About

Permata Adinda is a journalist based in Jakarta, Indonesia. Her reports for Project Multatuli focus on marginalized communities, particularly women, youth, indigenous peoples, and the working class. Her piece “Between Nickel and a Hard Place: Plight of Indonesian and Chinese Workers Behind the Electric Vehicle Boom”, which explores the conditions of nickel workers in Central Sulawesi, Indonesia, received a special mention at the SOPA 2024 Awards in the Excellence in Bahasa Indonesia News Reporting category and was shortlisted for the True Story Award 2024. Additionally, her report on the stigma surrounding abortion in Indonesia earned a special mention at the SOPA 2024 Awards in the Excellence in Reporting on Women’s Issues (Regional/Local) category.
