Beauregard Tromp is currently the convenor of the African Investigative Journalism Conference, the largest gathering of journalists in Africa. Most recently, he was Africa Editor at OCCRP, a cross border investigative journalism organization. His personal awards include being chosen as a Nieman Fellow, winning the CNN/Multichoice African Print Journalist of the Year award and being named South African Journalist of the Year. He is a former deputy editor at the Mail & Guardian and have worked at various titles, primarily in print/online.
