Alexa Vélez Zuazo

Managing editor of Mongabay Latam, a portal specialized in environmental news coverage for Latin America. Since 2016, Mongabay Latam has won the King of Spain and Inter American Press Association (IAPA) awards twice, has received three honorable mentions from the IAPA and has been finalist for national and international journalism awards. Alexa Vélez has more than 16 years of experience in investigative, political and environmental journalism in print, digital and television media. She is a journalist and has a master's degree in Visual Anthropology.
