I am an Egyptian journalist and academic, living between Cairo and Athens. I have worked with various Egyptian and international media organizations from 2007 to the present. Since 2013, I have specialized in producing investigative reports and documentaries. I have collaborated on visual and written investigations with international media outlets such as the BBC, DW, France 24, Reuters, Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project | OCCRP, Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper, and alpheratzmag. In 2022, I was awarded my doctorate with unanimous distinction from the Department of Political Science and History at Panteion University, Athens. Awards and Recognition: Since I began working in investigative journalism, I have received 8 international awards between 2015 and 2025. The awards were given for the best investigative reporting on diverse topics, including migration, corruption, and organ trafficking. In addition to my journalistic work, I am currently a faculty member in the Faculty of Languages in Cairo, in the Department of Modern Greek Studies. I continue to reside between Cairo and Athens to accommodate the demands of both my journalistic and academic work. In May 2025, I received the Arab Journalism Award - Dubai Press Club for Best Investigative Report in the Arab world for 2024. In 2019, I was shortlisted for the "War Merchants" investigation at the Global Investigative Journalism Conference "The Global Shining Light Award", and I am currently nominated for the same award (GIJC 2025) for my investigative report "Greece's Heavy Industry", published in Arabic and English with the support of the ARIJ Foundation for Investigative Journalism.
