Poonam Agarwal is an Emmy-nominated journalist with over two decades of experience covering Indian society and politics. She is the author of 'India Inked - Elections in the World's Largest Democracy'.  She has worked with NDTV, Times Now, The Quint. She worked as an independent journalist with the BBC World Service, Discovery, GIJN etc. She is also running her own news-web-portal and YT channel ExplainX.  Her expertise in investigative journalism has earned her numerous accolades, including the Ramnath Goenka Award for Investigative Journalism, the BBC News Awards for Outstanding Original Investigative Journalism, and the Best Investigative Journalist at The News Television Awards.  Poonam's work extends to a global audience. She was honoured with the Gavin MacFayden Memorial Lecture by the Centre for Investigative Journalism in London. Her journalistic investigative long form documentary with the BBC World Service 'The Trap: India’s Deadliest Scam' gave India global recognition - it was the first Indian documentary to be nominated in the Emmy Awards under Current Affairs category. Notably, her award-winning investigative work on elections and the Electoral Bonds scheme was instrumental in helping the Supreme Court deliver a historic judgment that struck down the Electoral Bonds Scheme.
