Pablo Baños is from Córdoba, Argentina. He holds a degree in Social Communication from the Catholic University of Santiago del Estero (Argentina), with postgraduate studies in Social and Political Anthropology at FLACSO (Argentina); Communication and Gender at Comunicar Igual (Argentina); and Digital Marketing at Universidad Blas Pascal (Argentina).
He has been part of Fundación Avina’s Communications Department since 2005. Since 2016, he has led communications for Latitud R; and since 2018, he has been Communications Manager at Fundación Avina. Since 2022, he has been in charge of the Inncontext News Agency (https://inncontext.net/agencia-de-noticias/), led by journalist Florencia Tuchín.
From his leadership role in Fundación Avina’s Narrative Building Strategy, he has designed and implemented a model for managing relationships with journalism aimed at promoting the concept of information as a public good, through symbiotic alliances between civil society, journalists, and media outlets. This model includes workshops and training, journalism production grant programs, direct collaborations, and immersive field experiences, among other approaches.
He has participated in various congresses and journalism events, advocating for the need to build bridges between civil society and the press, under the motto of turning stories into news. The goal is to create favorable conditions and contexts for the collaborative processes needed to drive systemic change in societies, in support of human dignity and care for the planet.
Through his role at Fundación Avina, he has designed and implemented impact-oriented communication strategies connected to inclusive recycling, access to water, migration, political innovation, among others. He is a native Spanish speaker, with strong Portuguese and French, and fluent English.
