Margot Gibbs

Margot is an investigative journalist and money trails expert at Lighthouse Reports, an award winning newsroom focused on collaborative investigations in the public interest. At Lighthouse she helps lead cross border investigations in the Food Systems newsroom. Investigations have included Poison PR, which revealed a US government funded influence operation to discredit scientists and campaigners working on sustainable agriculture in the global south, and The Hunger Profiteers, which exposed the role of financial speculators in driving the 2022 food price crisis.  Before joining Lighthouse she was a reporter for the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) and Finance Uncovered, where she reported on money flows underpinning corruption, labour and environmental abuse.
